The museum announced Wednesday that its Chicago location will officially close on September 7, 2026, giving visitors just a few more weeks to experience the attraction before it shuts down.
WNDR first opened in Chicago in 2018, beginning as a pop-up before becoming a permanent immersive attraction. The museum is located at 1130 W. Monroe St. and has become known for its colorful, interactive installations designed to encourage visitors to participate in the artwork rather than simply view it.
WNDR Museum has featured 15 installations, including LOVE IS CALLING, AMES, WNDR Light Floor, Iris, Color & Light and Bubble Hallway. The experience has also included special programming and temporary installations throughout its run.
The museum’s announcement thanked the guests, artists and staff who helped shape WNDR’s Chicago experience, describing the venue as a place where people could play, connect and create memories.

The museum also announced that its Boston location, which opened back in 2022, will be closing its doors on Sunday August 30th.
For Chicagoans and visitors who have been putting off a trip, the clock is now ticking. WNDR’s final day in Chicago will be September 7th, giving guests one last opportunity to walk through its immersive exhibits and experience the West Loop attraction before it closes.
WNDR Museum wasn’t just a museum, it became a part of Chicago.
