A Florida pizza delivery worker stabbed a pregnant customer 14 times after becoming upset over a $2 tip.
Brianna Alvelo, 22, was upset over a $2 tip after delivering a pizza to the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee and returned with an accomplice.
According to NBC News, Melinda Irizarry, was celebrating a birthday with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter.
She gave Alvelo $50 for a $33 order but only tipped $2 because Alvelo did not have change. Alvelo, walking away frustrated at the customer, she allegedly later returned to the Irizarry’s motel room with an unknown male suspect — who was armed with a firearm — and “forced their way into the room.”
The male suspect demanded that the woman’s boyfriend go into the bathroom, the affidavit said. And the other person, believed to be Alvelo, pulled out a pocketknife, it said. Irizarry shielded her daughter during the attack and was stabbed 14 times by the suspects.
Arriving deputies found Irizarry, who had been stabbed multiple times. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured lung and was treated for stab wounds to her chest, arms, legs, and abdomen, according to the affidavit.
Alvelo faces charges of attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, assault, and kidnapping, the male suspect is still at large.
