CHICAGO’S GYRLS IN THE H.O.O.D FOUNDATION OPENS REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CENTER IN WOODLAWN

A compassionate nonprofit organization is expanding its reach to support young women and their families in the community by providing vital health education, clothing, and food. Nearly two years after the successful launch of its first reproductive health center in Greater Grand Crossing, the Gyrls In The H.O.O.D. Foundation proudly opened a new site in Woodlawn this past Tuesday.

Residents from the local area are warmly welcomed to visit the center located at 6429 S. Cottage Grove Ave., where they can take advantage of various services. The H.O.O.D. closet offers free clothing to those in need, while assistance with job interviews and resume writing is available to empower individuals on their career paths. Monthly distributions provide complimentary groceries, and the center hosts weekly homework and tutoring sessions to support students in their educational journeys. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, ensuring accessibility to its community.
