CHICAGO ACTIVIST JEDIDIAH BROWN SPEAKS OUT FOLLOWING THORNTON TOWNSHIP FIGHT

Services are set to resume in Thornton Township on Wednesday following actions taken by the board on Tuesday evening. This occurred prior to an outbreak of violence.

A spokesperson for Township Supervisor Tiffany Henyard issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the altercation.

Henyard announced that the township closure has concluded and services will restart on Wednesday. However, the board meeting reached a disturbing low point when a fight erupted.

Jedediah Brown mentioned that even though he no longer resides in the Chicago area, he still advocates for its residents and would not have attended the meeting if he hadn’t been invited by local residents.

On Wednesday, Brown stated that he did not instigate the altercation and is unhappy about being held responsible for the incident. He and his companion are asserting they were merely defending themselves.

It seems that the violence escalated after Brown, known for his harsh criticisms of Henyard, used a vulgar term to refer to her during a meeting in Thornton Township on Tuesday night.

This meeting marked the first occasion where the board’s vacancy was filled, enabling the board to finally approve the township’s tax levy ordinance and insurance, thus ending the shutdown.
