STAR SOCCER PLAYER, CHASE STEGALL, DIES UNEXPECT EULY AT DEPAUL UNIVERSTY IN CHICAGO

Chase Stegall, a 20-year-old DePaul University student and soccer player, was found dead in his dorm room at Sanctuary Hall on the Lincoln Park campus in Chicago on June 2, 2025. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and an autopsy is underway to determine the cause.

Stegall was a sophomore midfielder on DePaul’s men’s soccer team and played in nearly every game during the 2024 season. He was originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and the son of former NFL and CFL star Milt Stegall.

University officials, teammates, and coaches expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing him as a vibrant and dedicated student-athlete. DePaul is providing counseling services to students and staff and will hold a memorial service in his honor.
