A Cook County man known online as Bitedown (600) has been found guilty in a brutal shooting that took the lives of two siblings — including a young woman who was four months pregnant — and left two others fighting for survival.

A South Side Tragedy That Shook the City
In one of the most heart-wrenching cases to come out of South Chicago in recent years, Benton-Harris, also known online as Bitedown (600), has been found guilty of two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
The verdict stems from a violent shooting that claimed the lives of Elijah House and his sister Emoni House, who was four months pregnant at the time of her death. Prosecutors say Benton-Harris opened fire during a domestic dispute inside the victims’ home, a scene that left the community stunned and grieving.

According to ABC7 Chicago, the attack also left the victims’ mother — who was shot five times — and a 19-year-old family friend — shot in the leg and neck — in critical condition but miraculously alive. Both survivors’ testimonies played a major role in bringing Benton-Harris to justice.
Family Ties to Lil Zay Osama and His Public Response
The victims were closely related to Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama, who reacted strongly after news of the conviction spread online. Taking to Instagram Stories, Zay shared mugshots of Benton-Harris while expressing his anger and disgust at the actions that took the lives of his family members.
In one post, he condemned anyone attempting to frame the situation as street-related, making it clear that this was not about gang politics — it was about the loss of family. His reaction reflected both personal grief and public frustration with the continued cycle of violence that haunts Chicago’s neighborhoods.

These emotional posts quickly circulated across social media, as fans and followers offered condolences while echoing his call for justice and accountability.

Community Still Searching for Healing
This tragedy struck deep for Chicago’s South Side — not only for the lives lost but for what they represented. Emoni, remembered for her bright spirit and soon-to-be motherhood, and her brother Elijah, known for his loyalty and energy, were both young lives full of promise.
Neighbors, relatives, and local advocates continue to call for peace and accountability in a city too familiar with headlines of violence. Their story serves as yet another reminder of the families and futures destroyed by unchecked rage and easy access to guns.
“No sentence can bring back what was taken — but justice, at the very least, gives their names dignity.”
