SEVERE STORM BRINGS LARGE TORNADO TO KANKAKEE ILLINOIS AND CAUSES MAJOR DAMAGE

A tornado was confirmed touching down in and around Kankakee, Illinois, with reports of damage to homes and structures in the area yesterday. The National Weather Service (NWS) said a tornado was spotted near the Kankakee Airport, moving toward Aroma Park and Momence, and another touchdown occurred near the Kankakee County Fairgrounds.

The NWS described the situation as extremely dangerous, urging residents to take cover immediately as the twister moved through Aroma Park — part of a broader severe storm system across the region, according to nbcchicago.com.
