Adrian Simancas, 24, was briefly swallowed by a humpback whale while kayaking with his father, Dell, off Punta Arenas, Chile. The whale emerged from the water, engulfing Adrian & his kayak. He was then spat out back into the sea.
Adrian’s father, Dell Simancas, filmed the incident and can be heard instructing his son to remain calm and grab his kayak.
Adrian explained his experience to CNN and stated, “When I turned around, I felt on my face like a slimy texture; I saw colors like dark blue, white, something approaching from behind that closed… and sank me,” he said. “At that moment, I thought there was nothing I could do, that I was going to die, I didn’t know what it was.”
