WOMAN KILLED OUTSIDE WALMART PARKING LOT IN LANSING ILLINOIS

A 66-year-old woman who has not yet been identified was fatally shot in a Walmart parking lot on Saturday. 

Customers told ABC7 that they were required to either go inside the store or move away from the parking area while police investigated what witnesses reported as a shooting that occurred in broad daylight.  

The parking lot outside the Walmart located at 17625 Torrence Ave. in Lansing was cordoned off for several hours as police conducted their investigation into the shooting.  

According to Lansing police, the victim was discovered with gunshot wounds around 1:45 p.m. and was later declared dead at a nearby hospital.  

Traffic was rerouted around the scene and by 4:30 p.m. Saturday, customers were able to shop inside the Walmart store again.
