MARYLAND HAIRSTYLIST SEEN DRAGGING 15-YEAR-OLD CLIENT GETS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

A Maryland hairstylist, 18-year-old Jayla Cunningham, has been charged with second-degree assault after a viral video she posted showed her dragging a 15-year-old client across her salon floor following a payment dispute.

The incident, stemmed from a $150 weave service, with Cunningham alleging the teen attempted to leave without paying after mistakenly sending money to the wrong CashApp account.

The video captures Cunningham yelling at the girl, dragging her by her hoodie, and cutting the weave out with scissors.

Once Jayla started receiving backlash for the video, she went to social media to respond to them, saying she didn’t know the client’s age and that this was something that happened to her before.

The teen’s mother claims her daughter was trying to resolve the payment issue and is now traumatized, while Cunningham, unaware of the charges until contacted by FOX 5.

Cunningham is facing a second-degree assault charge. She has a summons to appear in court on April 18.
