A tense rescue operation unfolded in Southern California after a 500-pound man was found trapped inside a deep construction hole in Pomona, according to KTLA News.
Officials say the man fell approximately 15 feet into a narrow hole at a construction site, sparking an urgent response from emergency crews. The situation quickly turned complex due to the tight space—reportedly just a few feet wide—and the depth of the trench.
Firefighters, along with Urban Search and Rescue teams, worked carefully to stabilize the area and safely reach the man. Crews used specialized equipment designed for confined-space rescues, taking extra precautions to prevent a collapse while attempting to lift him out.
After a coordinated effort, rescuers were able to successfully pull the man to safety. He was then transported to a nearby hospital and placed on advanced life support. His current condition has not yet been publicly confirmed.
The incident has raised questions about safety at the construction site, and an investigation is expected to determine exactly how the fall occurred.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity. The situation remains under review as more details are expected to emerge.
