Flight attendants traced the source of the maggots to a suitcase containing a rotten fish wrapped in a newspaper. The fish was subsequently removed to the back of the plane.

According to the Daily Mail, the passenger responsible for the rotting fish was detained after returning to Amsterdam. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that the flight was interrupted due to an “improperly packed carry-on bag.”

Adding that “the aircraft returned to the gate and passengers were placed on the next available flight.  The aircraft was removed from service for cleaning.”

Reportedly, the passengers received compensation for hotel accommodations, a $30 meal voucher, and 8,000 air miles. Thoughts?
