Former CNN prime time host Don Lemon has reached a separation agreement with the network.
According to The Wrap, CNN personality Don Lemon, who is 57 years old, has reportedly reached a separation agreement with the network. The deal is said to be worth around $24.5 million, which is the total amount he would have earned from his final 3.5-year contract had he not been removed from his position.
CNN’s Lemon faced criticism when he switched from his popular primetime show to the morning show alongside Caitlin Collins and Poppy Harlow. He received backlash from his female colleagues after suggesting that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was past her prime at the age of 51.
Lemon faced backlash for saying “Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime”. He later explained his discomfort with age discussions and how women are only considered to be in their prime in their 20s, 30s, and maybe 40s.
Lemon was dismissed by the network after his show. He described it as termination and wrote on social media
“It is clear that there are some larger issues at play,”
Lemon is preparing to launch a new show on X (Twitter) in the next few weeks. The new program, “The Don Lemon Show,” will allow him to be “bigger, bolder, freer,” Lemon he said in a posting.
