Around 1:30 this morning, A major bridge in Baltimore was hit by a container boat causing the bridge to collapse in a mater of seconds. Due to the bridge being struck it caused several vehicles plunging into the water, prompting an intense search for survivors and throwing the future of a key shipping port into question.
Two people were initially rescued — one declined treatment and another was taken to, and subsequently discharged from, Shock Trauma. Coast guard officials state that around 7:30 p.m. today, nearly 18 hours after the bridge collapsed, that the six people who were found deceased were construction workers who were working on the bridge at the time of the incident.
Witnesses surrounded said “It felt like an earthquake”.
Investigation shows this was not intentional and it has been mentioned that this incident was caused due to a power outage.
We’d like to send prayers to Baltimore and the families related to this tragic matter.
