Jess Hilarious has again expressed her regret for joking about Chadwick Boseman’s appearance before his cancer diagnosis was publicized.
Chadwick died in Aug. 2020 after a long battle with colon cancer. The actor died with stage III in 2016, and it later progressed to stage IV.
His diagnosis was not made public until after his passing, but fans began to notice changes in his physical appearance, particularly significant weight loss. Unaware of his illness, many assumed that his dramatic weight loss was due to preparing for a new role. As a result, numerous jokes and comments circulated on social media from many people including Jess.
Jess shared that the backlash she received from people didn’t hurt her the most; it was the realization that she isn’t the type of person to make fun of someone who is sick. Despite her “messy” persona, she believes she is still a “very good person.”
She ended up admitting that after Chadwick’s passing, she was affected so much that she had to step away from her platform “Jess with the Mess” for 5 months.
