POP SMOKE’S MOTHER RELEASES HEARTBREAKING STATEMENT AFTER MURDER TRIAL CONVICTION

Pop Smoke’s fans experienced a sense of closure on Wednesday. One of the four individuals involved in the rapper’s death took a plea deal and received a sentence of 29 years in prison. This individual, Corey Walker, was legally an adult when Pop Smoke was murdered. Walker’s sentencing is scheduled for February 21. While this is a win for justice, Smoke’s mother, Audrey Jackson, did not express happiness in response to the conviction. Jackson shared with Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon that she remains heartbroken over the loss of her son.

Jackson pointed out that the trial had concluded for everyone except her. “This never ends for me. And that’s unfair,” she claimed. She expressed to Pop Smoke’s supporters that her son received the justice he deserved in court. She feels relieved to see those accountable face appropriate consequences. However, the pain of losing Pop will never entirely subside. “I am thankful they received justice to the maximum extent of the law. But my life remains unchanged,” Jackson stated. “I still don’t have my son.” Audrey Jackson has made significant efforts to keep her son’s memory alive since his passing in 2020.
