NATE ROBINSON RECIEVES DONOR AND HAS SUCCESSFUL KIDNEY TRANSPLANT SURGERY

Nate Robinson has received a kidney transplant. The former NBA athlete had an extensive surgery on Friday morning at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

Robinson was surrounded by friends and family as he started the day, and the kidney was donated by a living donor.

As reported by ESPN in the summer of 2024, Robinson learned nearly 20 years ago, while playing for the New York Knicks, that his kidneys were not working properly and that he would eventually need a transplant.

In 2021, Robinson discovered that his kidneys were failing, prompting him to begin weekly dialysis treatments at a clinic in Seattle, where on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, he would spend time from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. as a tube circulated fluids in and out of his arm.

Last fall, Robinson went through several procedures, including a colonoscopy, as potential donors were evaluated to find an appropriate match.
