The Travel plans of some passengers took a violent turn at Atlanta’s airport on Wednesday last week. Cellphone video captured the moments a brawl broke out at what appeared to be a Spirit Airlines boarding gate.
The fight, which broke out on Feb. 19th at the Spirit Airlines gate at Georgia’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, involved what appeared to be two groups of men and women punching and kicking each other, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
The video shows groups of men and women throwing punches, kicks, and climbing over seats in a space that is usually designated for eating, reading or making a few last-minute phone calls before boarding your plane. Although others in the gate area can be heard in the video trying to help deescalated the situation, it didn’t really seem to stop.
Atlanta police say they responded to reports of a large disturbance at the airport, but by the time they got to the gate, the crowd had dispersed. It’s still unclear what prompted the fight or whether any of the travelers involved faced any consequences.
