Two teens have been arrested after a video showed them throwing a large chair from the third floor of the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, east London, narrowly missing five shoppers. The video has since gone viral.
According to BBC, the 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remained in custody, the Met Police said.
The incident, recorded on Snapchat and shared on TikTok, showed the chair crashing to the ground with a loud bang after the individual struggled to lift and toss it over the balcony. Three boys, including the one who threw the chair, were seen running away while shouting and laughing, with the Snapchat caption reading, “No way bro almost k*lled someone, Nahhh,” accompanied by laughing emojis.
The Metropolitan police has now confirmed that two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, have since been arrested over the video and are being held on suspicion of criminal damage.
