The sequence of events began around 4:35 p.m. when Oak Brook police observed a black Hyundai, previously involved in a pursuit with Aurora police the day before. Officers noted a woman in green attire entering the vehicle and committing a traffic violation. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading to a chase that was terminated when the vehicle entered I-88.

Later, a license plate reader detected the Hyundai near the 290/Austin area, prompting Village Park police to re-engage. With aerial assistance, authorities tracked the vehicle to I-90/94 and Garfield, where it eventually stopped on the interstate’s shoulder. The driver exited and was subsequently arrested without further incident.

Collins faces several charges, including:

Aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer (exceeding 21 mph over the limit), Operating an uninsured motor vehicle, Speeding 35+ mph over the limit and having No valid registration.
