H&M is once again receiving backlash after a video started to surface of the company being racist towards 2 black girls at their Albuquerque store.
In the video that’s posted to TikTok by “yoitsnoela,” you can hear the manager telling the girls “I don’t have to have a reason, that is my reason…l’m refusing you service.”
As the girls continued to question her about why, the manager claimed that she had seen the girls in the store recently, but like everyone else in the world, the girls said they hadn’t been to H&M in a very long time.
“Are you saying we were stealing?” The girls asked. “Do you have a picture you could show us?” The manager says she wasn’t saying any of that but wanted the girls to leave so they wouldn’t become “violent.”
“Violent!?” The girls exclaimed before laughing at the woman and exiting the store. A security officer who was overseeing the situation offered to talk to the girls outside.
The manager denied them service, fearing they might become violent and steal, despite having no actual evidence.
This comes years after H&M decided that they wanted to promote their “coolest monkey” sweater that featured a little Black boy wearing it.
No further details have been given.
