During a recent interview, Memphis Bleek shared a wild story from his early days in the rap game. The Roc-A-Fella veteran said the first time he visited Chicago, things got real tense when someone approached him about how he was wearing his hat — and it wasn’t just talk.
Bleek said the man actually pulled a gun on him and told him to “fix” his hat, warning him that the way he was wearing it could be taken as gang affiliation. The Brooklyn rapper admitted it was a serious lesson in street etiquette and respect for different city cultures.
He laughed it off now, saying it was all love, but that moment made him realize how real things could get outside of New York.
