FAMILIES SUE H-E-B AFTER DEADLY HIGHWAY CRASH IN TEXAS

A tragic crash in the Texas Panhandle has led to a wrongful death lawsuit against H‑E‑B. On November 5, 2025, four Houston-area women — Lakeisha Brown, Myunique Johnson, Taylor White, and Breanna Brantley — were killed when their car slowed for a flat tire on U.S. Highway 87 near Dalhart and was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler hauling potatoes for H‑E‑B. The women were returning from a girls’ trip at the time of the crash.

According to KHOU 11, the families filed suit in Bexar County on December 23, 2025, naming H‑E‑B, the truck driver, and two trucking companies. The lawsuit alleges negligence, distracted driving, and failure to properly supervise and train the driver, as well as failure to preserve evidence.

The families are seeking over $1 million in damages for loss of companionship, support, and funeral expenses. H‑E‑B said it sympathizes with the families and noted the driver was a third-party vendor, not a company employee.

The case is ongoing, and the families hope the lawsuit will bring justice for the four women whose lives were tragically cut short.
