MISSOURI FAMILY DEVASTATED AFTER GRAVE OF LOVED ONE WAS DISTURBED

In a heartbreaking incident, the family of Delshon L. Dupriest, a Kansas City man killed in 1998, is reeling after his grave was found desecrated earlier this month. The grave, located at Forest Hill Cemetery, had been blown open, with the cement vault above his coffin destroyed.

“It looked like someone put dynamite under it,” said Dupriest’s mother, Jamesetta Blandhood. “Who hates him so badly that they would tear up his grave like that?”

The damage was discovered after someone rammed through the cemetery gate. Police are investigating the act as a property crime. The motive remains unclear.

For the Dupriest family, the destruction has reopened decades-old wounds.

“After 27 years, who would do this?” Blandhood asked.

The incident has raised questions about cemetery security and respect for the dead. For one family, it has stolen not just a resting place—but a source of peace.
