Drivers in Oklahoma were stunned when they saw an inmate hanging halfway out of the back window of a prison transport van, still dressed in his prison-issued uniform. The man could be heard pleading with passing motorists to help him escape, creating a chaotic and dangerous scene on the road.
Video circulating online shows the inmate frantically waving his arms and yelling for help as the van sped down the highway. Witnesses say traffic slowed as some drivers tried to process what they were seeing.
Authorities have not yet released details on how the inmate managed to partially free himself from the vehicle or what charges he was facing at the time. Prison officials confirmed that the inmate did not successfully escape and is now back in custody.
