BROTHERS CHARGED IN SOUTH SHORE SHOOTING THAT KILLED WGN-TV SECURITY GUARD

Monday afternoon, Salena Claybourne, a mother of 2, stopped for some gas after leaving work when two men approached her trying to steal her car. This robbery took a turn for the worst when she was shot and killed.

According to CBS, Chicago police said 22-year-old Gregory Watson, and 17-year-old Dameonte Watson both were arrested shortly after Claybourne, 35, was shot and killed Monday afternoon as she was sitting in her car at a Mobil gas station at 67th Street and Jeffery Boulevard.

The gas station manager, who was at his vehicle at the time, saw both brothers running away holding handguns. Both were arrested less than 20 minute later. Dameonte was found hiding under the back porch of a home in the 6900 block of East End Avenue, and Gregory was found in the backyard of a home in the 6800 block of South Euclid Avenue, according to prosecutors.

Claybourne was struck in her shoulder and face and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
