The Chicago Police Department announced Wednesday night that Tate was taken into custody in the western suburb of Glendale Heights through the efforts of CPD officers and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force. Tate had been on the run since the shooting occurred, but authorities were able to track him down nearly a week later.
According to an anonymous source, Tate was extracted from a second-floor apartment unit in a multi-dwelling residential complex located in Glendale Heights. At the time of his arrest, Tate was reportedly wearing the handcuffs of Officer Huesca, the police officer who was murdered during Tate’s escape.
