AUTHORITIES IDENTIFY SUSPECT IN NEW YEAR’S DAY TRUCK ATTACK IN NEW ORLEANS

Today started off with some really awful news from New Orleans. A driver deliberately drove a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street, resulting in at least ten deaths and injuries to many others. The FBI is looking into it as a possible act of terrorism. The driver, named Shamsud-Din Jabbar, ended up getting shot by the police after he fired at them. They found weapons and possible explosives in his truck, which just made the whole situation even more terrifying.

A devastating attack has shaken the city, leading officials and residents to prioritize safety and recovery. Because of this tragedy, the Sugar Bowl game between Notre Dame and Georgia has been postponed. It was originally scheduled for January 1st but will now take place on Thursday, January 2nd, at 8:45 PM Eastern Time. Officials made this choice to honor the victims and to protect public safety during this time of mourning.
