CHICAGO OFFICER SHOT IN CHATHAM: POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTS

A female police officer in Chicago was shot on Thursday afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood, near the intersection of 82nd Street and Drexel Avenue. Officials reported that the officer was critically injured and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The shooting triggered a massive police response, including SWAT teams and Illinois State Police, who flooded the area in search of the suspect or suspects. Officers were seen going door to door and reviewing surveillance footage in the neighborhood as part of the ongoing investigation.

Residents are being asked to stay vigilant and share any information or video that may assist in identifying those responsible.
