MINNEAPOLIS MAYOR DELIVERS STRONG MESSAGE TO ICE AFTER FATAL SHOOTING

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey issued a blunt and emotional response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after one of the agency’s agents shot and killed a U.S. citizen during a federal operation in south Minneapolis.

Frey forcefully rejected ICE’s claim that the agent acted in self-defense, stating that early video footage and eyewitness accounts reviewed by the city do not clearly support the federal narrative. He emphasized that Renee Good, who was killed, was not the target of any law enforcement investigation.

“To ICE — get the f*** out of Minneapolis,” Frey said, accusing the agency of bringing fear, chaos, and danger into local communities rather than improving public safety.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that local police were not involved in the federal operation and reiterated that Good was inside her vehicle when she was shot. The incident quickly sparked protests, with residents demanding accountability, transparency, and the release of all body-camera footage.
