7 YEAR OLD BOY SHOT AND KILLED ON CHICAGO’S NEAR WEST SIDE

On Tuesday afternoon a seven year old boy was shot and killed after being struck by a bullet on the city’s Near West Side.

According to CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling, after officers responded to a call about someone hearing shots fired in Oakley Square Apartments, located at the 2300 block of West Jackson Blvd; they found a boy with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Seven year old Jaimaniamir Rivera shot and killed

Jaimaniamir Rivera was simply walking to a neighbor’s home when shots were fired from a long distance. Despite officers efforts to apply pressure to the wound, the boy was taken to Stroger hospital in the back seat of the squad car. He died of his injuries a short time later.
