DOZENS EVACUATED AFTER NEW YORK FERRY BURSTS INTO FLAMES WHILE SAILING

Footage of a ferry catching fire on the Hudson River between New York City and Jersey City has gone viral.

In the video, flames and smoke could be seen coming from the vessel after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The 37 passengers on board were offloaded from the boat, the Mychal Judge, due to the fire.

New York Waterway says the fire was quickly extinguished and the ferry was safely towed back to port.

No injuries were reported.

It’s not clear how the fire started.
