On February 19, 2025, Will McNeil Jr. was pulled over for driving without his headlights on, prompting him to ask officers, “Why am I being stopped?” Instead of providing an answer, one officer responded defiantly, “When you get out of the car.”
As McNeil requested to speak with a supervisor, tensions escalated dramatically. An officer smashed his car window, violently pulled him from the vehicle, and proceeded to beat him before throwing him to the ground. The incident culminated in McNeil’s arrest and transport to jail.
