Social media influencer Terryon Ishmael Thomas, aka “Mr. Prada,” has been indicted for first-degree murder in the 2024 death of Baton Rouge therapist Dr. William Nicholas “Nick” Abraham. He faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.
Dr. Abraham, 69, was a well-respected therapist specializing in substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. He also served as a Roman Catholic priest for 11 years. His body was discovered wrapped in a tarp along a Louisiana highway, with the coroner determining the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
Surveillance footage revealed Dr. Abraham entering Thomas’s Baton Rouge apartment complex on the day of the incident. Later, Thomas was seen dragging a blue tarp, presumed to contain Dr. Abraham’s body, down the stairs and placing it in the victim’s vehicle. A subsequent search of Thomas’s apartment uncovered significant evidence of a violent altercation, including a substantial amount of blood and multiple sharp objects.
Following the discovery of Dr. Abraham’s body, authorities identified his missing vehicle, which was later spotted at a shopping center. When police attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading to a chase that ended with the suspect crashing the car and escaping on foot. Thomas was eventually apprehended in Dallas, Texas, and extradited to Louisiana.
Thomas was initially charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. However, his charges were upgraded to first-degree murder under Louisiana laws that apply when the victim is aged 65 or older, which makes him eligible for the death penalty. The motive for the crime is still under investigation, and there is no evidence indicating a prior relationship between Thomas and Dr. Abraham.
Thomas, 20, gained popularity on TikTok under the name “Mr. Prada,” amassing over 8 million followers for his comedic skits and commentary on relationships, school life, and Gen Z culture. As of January 2025, he remains in custody, awaiting trial for the murder of Dr. Abraham.
