TWO MEN SUE MAYOR TIFFANY HENYARD FOLLOWING THORNTON TOWNSHIP BRAWL

Two individuals who engaged in a fight during a Thornton Township meeting last month are taking legal action against Supervisor Tiffany Henyard and others.

Jedidiah Brown and Lavell Redmond have filed their lawsuits in federal court. The plaintiffs claim they were assaulted while exercising their free speech rights. The lawsuit includes Henyard, Kamal Woods, a Thornton Township employee, a Dolton employee, South Holland police, and others as defendants.

Henyard’s lawyer describes the lawsuits as “frivolous” and “totally unfounded.”

In a different legal issue, Woods, who is Henyard’s partner, has initiated a wrongful termination lawsuit against Thornton Township.

Following the altercation, he was dismissed from his position with the township earlier this month.

Trustees noted that he had already been scrutinized before this incident.

ABC7 contacted a representative for the Thornton Township trustees for a statement but has not yet received a response.

According to ABC 7, Dolton trustees released a statement, saying, “The Dolton Trustees want to set the record straight regarding the frivolous lawsuit filed by Mr. Woods. None of the Trustees were present at this incident, nor have we made any payments to anyone. Any statements suggesting otherwise are completely false. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and serving the residents of Dolton. We will not be distracted by misinformation and will continue to work for the best interests of our community.”
